AstaGuru, Online Auction House, To Host Its Annual ‘Vintage & Classic Car’ Auction

AstaGuru, India’s premium online auction house, will host its annual ‘Vintage & Classic Car’ auction on the 27 – 28 November, 2020. The catalogue will feature cars by esteemed manufacturers such as Rolls – Royce, Mercedes-Benz, Ford, Cadillac, Wolseley, Chevrolet, Fabbrica Italiana Automobili Torino (FIAT), Rover, Jaguar & Buick, amongst others.

This will be the third edition and will include a lot originally from the collection of The Princely State of Tonk.

Mercedes Benz

The auction will be headlined by a magnificent Ford Model T from the year 1917 (Lot 10) estimated at INR 35 – 45 lakhs. The iconic automobile not only flaunts the aura of vintage at its best, but is also historically significant, given that the production of the ‘Model T’ was revolutionary, defining the future for assembly line production globally. The car enthralls, owing to its simple essence of driving.  Mechanical marvels as such, without a doubt, define the true value and superior quality of a car.

Buick 40C Special Series, 1938

Another car set to intrigue buyers is the vintage Wolseley 11/22 drophead coupe from 1926 (Lot 2), estimated at INR 30 – 40 lakhs. The car’s highlight is its desirable drop head coupe body style and the seating arrangement, which consists of two seats ahead and a dickey seat/rumble seating arrangement in the rear. It sports a side-mounted stepney wheel and a fuel can with a wooden dashboard as the interior. The 11/22 was an appealing and well-engineered car for its time, it gained popularity because of its light weight and styling. A Buick 40C Speical Series from 1938, originally from the collection of the Nawab Saheb of Tonk, is a vintage convertible car bound to be a delightful addition to one’s collection. The presented lot was part of ‘The 21 Gun Salute: International Vintage Car Rally And Concours Show’ that took place at India gate, New Delhi in the year 2017. Its 4500cc, Dynaflash Straight-8
engine roars with grit and enhances the car’s sporty attributes. Furthermore, it features a convertible top comprising of tan canvas and sports twin side-mounted stepney wheels with whitewall tyres. This stunning car (Lot 11) will be offered at INR 65 – 85 lakhs.

Wolseley, 1926

Chevrolet – Master Six from the year 1934, the presented lot (Lot 4) has been cosmetically, as well as mechanically refurbished and is considered as a good and reliable family car. This is indeed an unique opportunity to acquire a well-accessorized and highly sought after and attractive automobile from the 1930s. The car will be offered at an estimate of INR 25 – 35 lakhs.

Rolls Royce Silver Spirit, 1982

Cadillac’s offering from its famed ‘Series 61’ from 1948 (Lot 12) is a desirable classic, two door sedanette that functions with its original engine and drivetrain and carries an estimate of INR 50 – 60 lakhs. It is also considered very rare because of its body style. Furthermore, there are only a handful believed to exist in India.

Lot 1, Mercedes-Benz 180B, 1960, a beautiful classic driver, recently refurbished with redinteriors to match the car’s elegant aura will be offered at an estimate of INR 25 – 27 lakhs. This beautiful Mercedes – Benz 180B retains its old-world charm, with its original 1.8 litre o.h.v engine and manual gear box. Rolls Royce – Silver Spirit from the year 1982, the most important highlight of the presented lot is its Marque. The brand value that Rolls Royce commands is a globally known fact, and this car’s holistic presence stays true to its revered legacy. The presented lot (Lot 8), estimated at INR 35 – 45 lakhs is well maintained and has refurbished interiors.
