Circularity isn’t just a buzzword these days; it’s a massive systemic challenge that the industry is navigating in real-time.
As I tune into today’s Global Fashion Agenda Policy Masterclass, I am focusing on the second pillar of my Copenhagen Insights series: Systems. While yesterday was about the ‘Substance’ (the physical fibers), today is about the technical and legal frameworks required to scale them.
To move from a sustainability blueprint to an industry baseline, we are tracking the intersection of three forces:
    • The Rules (Policy): Unpacking new  European Commission ESPR   that will move transparency from a ‘choice’ to a legal requirement, mandating higher standards for durability, repairability, and recyclability.
    • The Money (Finance): Circularity requires infrastructure. I am tracking how capital is being reallocated to fund the massive USD 350 billion shift needed for recycling hubs and sorting centers.
    • The Tools (Engineering): This is the technical science behind the Digital Product Passport (DPP). It’s a digital ‘identity card’ that tracks a garment’s journey from the first fiber to its final recycle, ensuring every product sold in the EU is transparent and traceable.

The Insider Take:
Circularity is a team sport. It requires Systems where the laws, the investments, and the technology all speak the same language. Tomorrow, as the core summit begins, I will explore the Soul—the human stories and ethics that give these technical frameworks their meaning.
