Valentine’s Day at Sirocco, Lebua

For luxury hotels, Valentine’s Day is the first month of the year when people, still recovering from the indulgences of December, choose to celebrate. It is also a crucial day for business, which is why most luxury hotels offer extravagant packages. Some that we thought were truly interesting:

At Lebua Hotels and Resorts’ beautiful hotels – Bangkok’s Tower Club at Lebua and Lebua at State Tower), three magnificent properties in India – Devi Garh by Lebua, Udaipur; Lebua Resort, Jaipur; and Lebua Lodge at Amer, Jaipur , and a lovely Lake Okareka Lodge by Lebua, in New Zealand – there are several Valentine’s Day packages on offer.

But the most lavish is the Valentine’s Day celebration at Bangkok’s Tower Club at Lebua’s altitude-defying collection of restaurants. Enjoy an exclusive seven-course dinner for two at the lovely Mediterranean restaurant, Sirocco, said to be the highest alfresco restaurant in the world. The stunning backdrop is the perfect place to celebrate love and companionship.

Or, enjoy the moments of love at Sky Bar, Thailand’s first of its kind open-to-air bar, where you package includes a bottle of GH Mumm Cordon Rouge Champagne. The other restaurants at the hotel will also serve special menus: Mezzaluna, the city’s fine-dining Mecca, where a seven-course tasting menu is available per person for THB 6,500 (taxes extra), plus wine pairing for THB 4,500 a head, while the hotel’s spectacular Asian dining restaurant, Breeze, where the tasting menu is available for THB 5,500 per person, and wine pairing for an extra THB 3,500 a head. And there is more! A sumptuous buffet will be laid out at the poolside-fringing Café Mozu, which will be beautifully decorated with several candles.

Dozen Red Roses Massage at the Vale Resort in south Wales

In snow-bound south Wales, the picturesque Vale Resort offers the perfect Valentine’s Day escape. The region’s largest spa has taken the traditional gift of a dozen red roses and given it a unique twist by developing a one-off massage treatment inspired by the ancient symbol of love and beauty.

The Dozen Red Roses Massage takes warm oils, infused with the sweet fragrance of pure rose, to deliver a relaxing, all over body massage. The treatment is finished off with a glass of bubbly.

The treatment has been personally developed by the Resort’s spa manager, Claire Caddick. The gentlemen, who may be waiting while their partner is being pampered, can enjoy a Mood Enhancing Massage which works warm tangerine and patchouli oil deep into the muscles of the back, easing out stress and tension. ‘The Romantic Lovers Break’ includes champagne and chocolates on arrival, a three course dinner and spa treatments.

At Ritz Carlton St.Thomas, Virgin Islands, US, love is on the menu. Start the day with indulgent spa treatments – enjoy a Swedish massage in the resort’s seaside cabana while the tranquility of the waves and gentle breezes engulf your senses. A special mimosa manicure and pedicure treatment will also be offered, including an organic mimosa sugar exfoliation and a calf and foot chocolate cherry oil massage, even as you sip a refreshing mimosa cocktail while being pampered.

In the evening, savor some private moments while sipping champagne and enjoying gourmet hors d’oeuvres as Lady Lynsey, the resort’s 53-foot catamaran sails into the sunset among the beautiful and romantic U.S. Virgin Islands. ‘The Champagne Sunset Sail’ is a beautiful way to celebrate the day. End the lovely day at the restaurant, Bleuwater – it allows for wondrous views of the Caribbean Sea and neighboring islands and Chef David Benjamin’s special four-course Valentine’s Day menu showcases savory cuts of meat and the freshest local fish and seafood, complemented by optional wine pairings from the hotel’s award-winning wine list. Couples may also ask for a private dinner on the beach.

In London, The Ritz Carlton has an option that includes accommodation and a dinner dance and at The Dorchester, couples can indulge in breakfast in bed, canapés and champagne during their stay.
These are just some of the Valentine’s Day special packages that are likely to attract regular patrons, and newer, younger clients to the hotels.
